Is this true?
I heard some people talking about how they went back to pre-searing with their level 20 characters... is this true that you can do this? I haven't played in a good three months or so and only started again about a week ago so I'm not informed on what all updates have occurred.

You can go back to the "Pre-Searing" or "noobie" land in cantha and nightfall, but there is no current way to get back to prophecies presearing.

No you play a reenactment not the mission. Time travel is impossible unless you fall into a black hole or somthing

Well, it actually really depends on your definition of time travel. Simply moving at a faster rate than somebody else causes you to 'live longer' than them, as it were. You effectively experience the same amount of time actively, but not physically - you would not age as much, for example.
Also, the best bet for time travel, as seen by most, would be a wormhole. I'll just add that they are, in actual fact, building a 'time machine' right now. Only beams of elementary particles can be sent through, and only backwards in time (back up to the point of completion of the instrument), but obviously, using just particles, information can be sent very easily (e.g. binary data). Hopefully it will work, and, if it does, information should arrive immediately as, presumably, the 'future us' would want to get info to us as soon as possible - i.e. when the machine is built. ...With reference to Guild Wars You cannot get back to pre-searing Ascalon after having left, as far as I know. |

I hear there were some exploits with guild hall access in the early days, that allowed the players in presearing to get into the guild halls. Perhaps, an exploit existed that also let the players who had already left reenter pre again?

As far as I know, I don't think there's any way for characters that have already left Pre-Searing to go back.

Time-travel discussions aside, Pre-Searing is the only portion of the game that you cannot revisit once you leave it.
The guild-hall exploit allowed pre-sear players to enter the guildhall and swap items with other players. It did not allow players to swap from pre-sear to post and vise versa. |

<key lyrics>
And it ain't easy to get back takes so long Do you wanna see me beggin' baby Can't you give me just one more day Can't you see my heart's been draggin' lately I've been looking for the words to say Ooooh Don't know what you got til it's gone Don't know what it is I did so wrong, wrong, wrong Now I know what I got It's just this song And, it's all yet another reason why Pre-Academy is a very special place and point in time for many of us. It has us singing softly (to avoid embarrassment) the words of another song: Ooohh If I could turn back time If I could turn back time If I could turn back time ooh baby |

Keep in mind if you have a character in pre searing and see a high level character 13 – 20 running around. They are death leveling for a title.
